Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable

What will you be doing?

As a Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable, you and your colleagues in the accounts payable team act as gatekeepers for incoming invoices. You ensure everything matches, from warehouse receipts to purchase orders and invoices. With your sharp eye and numerical insight, discrepancies are identified and resolved in good time. This way, you directly contribute to a smoothly running financial administration within our purpose-led organisation.

In this role, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the finance department’s email inbox and physical mail.
  • Monitoring outstanding payments and maintaining contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Processing cost invoices (such as freight, rent, and customs charges) and goods invoices.
  • Verifying that warehouse receipts, purchase orders, and invoices align.
  • Identifying discrepancies and coordinating with the purchasing or supply departments.
  • Ensuring correct processing of credit notes.
  • Supporting monthly and annual financial closings and contributing to a smooth audit process.

You’ll be part of an informal team of four colleagues in administration and you will work closely with the wider Finance department, a group of dedicated professionals who, like you, value accuracy and efficiency.

What will you bring?

  • A completed MBO-4 or HBO level education.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a financial department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the rest of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A goal-oriented mindset with the ability to introduce structure and efficiency in a growing organisation.
  • You are accurate, detail-oriented, have strong numerical insight, and work independently.
