Category Manager / Trader Organic Spices & Superfoods

What will you be doing?

Are you an experienced sourcer or trader with a passion for organic food? Then we have a unique opportunity for you. As a Category Manager at DO IT Organic, you will take ownership of your own product categories, Spices & Herbs and Superfoods, within the dynamic world of organic food. It’s up to you to find the right suppliers that align with our company’s mission. You know exactly where to source top-quality goji berries or organic turmeric. You’ll have the freedom to leverage your network and expertise to truly make a difference. Already have existing client relationships or market contacts? You can immediately use them to accelerate the growth of your category.

As Category Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing procurement and new business strategies for your product categories;
  • Maintaining and expanding sustainable relationships with (inter)national suppliers;
  • Leading procurement discussions and negotiations;
  • Drafting purchase orders and contracts;
  • Monitoring market developments and proactively responding to them;
  • Sharing cost prices and availability with the sales team;
  • Achieving margin and revenue targets within your category.

You’ll work full-time at our office in Barneveld, where we foster a warm and collaborative atmosphere. Your start time is flexible between 07:30 and 09:00, as long as you complete your 8-hour workday. You’ll be part of a team of four Category Managers and collaborate closely with colleagues from Sales, Quality, Finance, and Marketing.

What will you bring?

  • Proven experience in procurement within the organic food industry, preferably in Superfoods or Spices & Herbs;
  • Excellent command of the English language;
  • Availability of 40 hours per week;
  • Willingness to travel internationally a few times per year;
  • Familiarity with SCM and ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV and SLIM4;
  • You are accurate, analytical, stress-resistant, and work proactively, result-oriented, and solution-focused.
